For the 2023 edition of BRAFA, Helene Bailly Marcilhac celebrates the warm colors and lights of the Mediterranean. On its booth “On dirait le Sud!”, the gallery takes a stand against the Belgian winter and transports visitors to Provence, Italy, and Spain... It presents works from the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, all united by a common thread: evoking the gentle spirit of the Mediterranean basin.
As part of Dialogs, Helene Bailly Marcilhac invites Charlot & Cie, a paper sculptor, to present a poetic tree within the booth. Reclining on sofas by Pierre-Augustin Rose, one can easily imagine spending a leisurely afternoon surrounded by Renoir, Le Sidaner, Van Rysselberghe, Marquet, Kisling, Miró, Picasso, Brauner, Estève, and many more.
